With the much needed rain our fire danger has gone down and our rivers have come up. We hope the rain continues on a regular pattern and keeps the rivers up to a floatable level. It will take alot of rain to bring the lakes back  to normal levels,but we have to start somewhere. 
We are starting to see some fawns, with the mild winter and the early and warm spring this should be a good year for fawn production. It has also been a good year for our bears , we have had reports of bears with 2 & 3 cubs and as always we hear about the problem bears at bird feeders.




The Northwoods Companions Kayak Fishing Club had it's first meeting of 2010 , Saturday April 10th 6-8 pm at the Country Kitchen in Iron Mtn. We enjoyed a nice meal and some great fish stories. 
The dates and places for the clubs summer fishing trips were set and everyone is ready to get on the water. A total of nine outings are scheduled at a wide variety of waters.
